Meet the other members of the herd (including a wanna-be)...
Meet Sherpa (AKA "The Guardfather")
guardian of all he surveys...
Sherpa likes to jump our 4' fence that the alpacas don't challenge, so when we do get our own place, he'll be a little surprised to discover that the fence has not only grown 2', but that there's a wooden rail along the top! For the time being, he's allowed to patrol the entire 20 acres, and while he might go to the fenceline to check out the road, he doesn't leave the property. He's very protective of the alpacas, especially the crias and the dams who are close to their due dates.
Sneakers, the cat who thinks he's an alpaca...
Sneakers likes to roll in the alpaca pens, eat hay and pellets when the mood strikes him, and can be found wandering out to the pasture to see what's going on with those "long necked cats". Definitely a "wanna-be"!
Pyewacket, who doesn't wanna-be an alpaca...
Pyewacket, who is also know as P.I.A. (Pain In the A**), will only go out to the pasture if she knows that Bob or I are out there. She's a little princess who hates to get wet or dirty, but will on occasion, deign to visit the barn, as long as the herd is not in residence.
